Brief Overview

The Aberdeen Mosque and Islamic Centre (AMIC) is the first founded mosque and Islamic centre in Aberdeen and the north east of Scotland.

AMIC SCIO is a non-profitbale charity organisation registered with the Office of Scottish Certified OSCR with Charity Number SC048009.

Our organisation's purposes are:-

1. To advance religion and in particular, the understanding and practice of the Islamic faith for the benefit of the Muslim community and the wider public 

2. Providing religious services to members of the Muslim community relating to Islamic marriages, births, deaths, and burials in accordance with Islamic teachings and Scots law 

3. Providing religious education, particularly in connection with the Islamic faith  

4. Promoting good and harmonious relations between the Aberdeen Muslim community and other communities in the North East of Scotland 

5. To relieve those in need by reason of age, ill–health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantages through providing welfare services (and on the basis that any funds received for a particular and specific cause shall only be used in furtherance of that cause)

6. Conducting social, cultural, and religious activities in the best manner possible in accordance with Islamic values.

7. Contributing to the local community by promoting and participating in projects related to areas of social concern.
